Can I donate my stuffed animals?

We are so grateful that you're thinking of donating stuffed animals to Second Snuggles!

We accept soft stuffed toys only. Please no batteries, electronics, or hard plastic components.

Stuffies do not need to be clean or in perfect condition as we specialize in restoring them, but we can’t accept items that are moldy or strongly smelly.

If you’re sending a larger donation, we highly recommend vacuum-sealing them to save space. All you need is a vacuum, a box, and a garbage bag (it makes shipping much easier and more affordable!). Here is a YouTube video on how to do this.

Before sending anything, please email us first so we can confirm we have capacity and share the correct shipping address. This helps us make sure every donation is handled with care and nothing goes to waste.

Can I send you my personal stuffed animal to clean?

Yes you can! We call it the Snuggle Spa and can find out more details about it and pricing at the link.

How are toys cleaned?

Each stuffed animal that finds its way to our doors is treated to a much deserved Snuggle Spa Day!

Every rescued plush spends a little time in quarantine before they are carefully inspected. Then they get a lovely bubble bath (with gentle and sanitizing soap) and a good scrub. Once they are dried, they are fluffed and dried back to their softest selves. If any of them need repair, the threads or fabric we remove is tucked into a tiny heart so their memories stay with them.

Before they’re put up for adoption, each friend is given a name (if they don’t already have one) so you can get to know them.

Why should anyone rescue stuffed animals?

The world is overflowing with mass production, including fast-fluff. People have too many stuffies and donation centers are overwhelmed or can't clean them properly. Sadly, many stuffies end up in landfills.

Second Snuggles hopes to offer a kinder, more sustainable alternative.

What comes with a Second Snuggles Adoption?

• A carefully wrapped new stuffed friend, usually like a burrito in brown paper. If they are a large animal, they might be carefully vacuum sealed in a plastic bag for their journey (we try to avoid this).

• An official Adoption Certificate with their name and a handwritten note that shares information about them

• A Re-Snuggle sticker for joining the Second Snuggle family

• A mailing package that can be recycled, composted, or reused

Can I return my Second Snuggle?

While we hope all of our stuffed friends find a home, we understand that sometimes things don’t work out. If you need to return a Second Snuggle, we’re happy to take him back and refund your cost of purchase.

Just note that return shipping is up to the customer. We’ll make sure your plush gets a loving welcome back.

Do you ship internationally?

Snuggles ships within the United States only.

If you're outside the U.S., there's a good chance a local stuffie rescue or rehoming group is doing similar heartwarming work near you!

What happens after I adopt a Second Snuggle?

How do we decide the cost of each stuffed animal?

There are a few important factors that go into the cost of each rescued stuffie.

First, we reflect the care and resources that go into their rescue and rehoming. That includes cleaning and repair materials, packing supplies to keep them safe on their journey, website upkeep, and, most importantly, the time and love our family puts into every step.

Second, we consider the value of the stuffie’s brand or type. Some friends are rare, collectible, or made with higher‑quality materials, and we want to honor that. Higher priced friends also often subsidize the cost of lower-priced ones so we can have options for everyone.

Third, size. The larger the friend, the more materials and time is spent on them.

It will take us a 1-3 days to prepare your stuffie for its journey to you. It will be shipped via USPS with Ground Advantage and should reach you within 3-5 business days after that.

How do you ship the stuffies?

What about allergies, bugs, and germs?

This is a fair and genuine concern, and we take it seriously. Here are the steps we follow to make sure every rescued stuffed animal is clean and safe as possible before joining a new family.

Quarantine: Each stuffie spends time in a sealed bag in a protected but outdoor storage space (if you've seen our social media, you know this is our camper). In the winter, that space stays below freezing for several months, which helps naturally reduce pests.

Inspection & Cleaning: When they come inside, every stuffed animal is individually inspected. They're washed with a gentle sanitizing soap whenever possible. After that, they spend at least 20 minutes in a low-heat environment (around 125 degrees). For friends who can't be washed, we use a high-temperature surface steam bath instead. Everyone gets brushed and lint-rolled.

Allergies & Household exposure: While we do everything we can to clean and refresh each plush, I can't guarantee that they are completely allergy free. I do not know the homes the stuffed animals come from and they are prepared in a home with cats, rabbits, and chickens (in or around the workshop). Families with severe allergies should keep that in mind.
